LEED Professional Directory Shows Jones Lang LaSalle as the World’s Top Employer of Accredited Professionals and Green Associates

CHICAGO, Jan. 31, 2013 — As part of its mission to offer the broadest and deepest energy and sustainability expertise to commercial property owners and tenants, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has surpassed all other firms in the number of LEED Accredited Professionals and Green Associates employed worldwide, as listed in the Green Building Certification Institute’s (GBCI) LEED Professional Directory, the official listing of credentialed individuals.

A recent review of GBCI’s LEED Professional Directory shows JLL with 1257 credentialed professionals, exceeding the second-highest ranking firm by more than 150 professionals. GBCI maintains the directory and administers LEED accreditation exams on behalf of the U.S. Green Building Council, which developed and updates criteria for LEED building certification and professional accreditation.

“LEED accreditation is one of the best ways for real estate professionals to demonstrate strong knowledge of sustainability, whether they are facility managers, leasing agents, project managers or workplace strategy consultants,” said Dan Probst, Chairman of Energy and Sustainability Services at JLL. “We provide encouragement and tools for all of our professionals to pursue LEED accreditation as a way to maintain our culture of excellence in green building innovation, as well as to support their individual career growth.”

JLL employs LEED professionals in more than 30 countries, who have assisted clients in more than 250 successful certifications, including new construction, existing buildings, multi-building campuses and commercial interiors. High-profile LEED Gold certifications in the past two years include the Empire State Building in New York City, Moscone Center in San Francisco and First Tower in Paris. The firm has also gained certification for six of its own offices with additional certifications in the pipeline.

JLL documents energy savings in excess of $100 million annually, and more than 2 million tons of carbon reduction over the past four years, on behalf of clients. Jones Lang LaSalle has partnered with smart technology leaders Pacific Controls to introduce IntelliCommandSM, the commercial real estate industry’s first integrated, end-to-end building management solution to combine cloud-based, smart-building technology with a world-class team of engineering and operations professionals to enable 24/7, real-time remote monitoring and control of facilities and portfolios worldwide. IntelliCommand has produced nearly 20% energy savings in buildings where it has been implemented and is driving unprecedented gains in efficiency and productivity. Earlier this year, IntelliCommand won a Realcomm Digie award for Best Use of Automation in Facilities Management.

Jones Lang LaSalle employs1,500 energy and sustainability accredited professionals in more than 30 countries around the world with skills in facility and property management, energy assessments, retro-commissioning, retrofits, project management, LEED and other certifications, renewable energy, sustainability consulting, renewable power solutions, workplace strategy, green lease programs, employee engagement and sustainability program design.
