JLL Hires New Multi-Residential Investment Brokerage Team in Toronto

Greater Toronto Area Apartment Experts Michael Betsalel and Earl Kufner join JLL

TORONTO, 16 September, 2016 – In response to the growing demand for investment sales expertise in the apartment sector in Canada, JLL today announced the firm has hired the team of Michael Betsalel and Earl Kufner to join the firm's multi-residential platform. Their additions expand the reach of JLL's multi-residential investment sales platform, and in particular the sale of apartment properties. Betsalel and Kufner will cover the Ontario marketplace and provide leadership and guidance to JLL's national multi-residential investment team.

Michael Betsalel comes to JLL from Colliers, joining as Senior Vice President & Sales Representative. Michael developed the Colliers Apartment Team in 2005 and he has quickly become one of the most active multi-residential investment advisors in Toronto, now having completed nearly $1 Billion worth of transactions.

Michael specializes in helping institutions, REITs and private investors to acquire or dispose of multi-residential real estate investments. Prior to the completion of his Masters of Business Degree, Michael spent five years in Management with a Fortune 500 organization. He has spent the past eleven years focused exclusively on multi-residential investment brokerage in the Greater Toronto Area.


Earl Kufner comes to JLL from Colliers, joining as Senior Vice President & Sales Representative. Earl has seventeen years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage in Toronto and has assisted in approximately $1.2 billion worth of transactions. Specializing in commercial property sales with an emphasis on the sale of multi-residential properties, Earl's primary market is central Greater Toronto Area. His proven opportunity identification and due diligence capabilities provide his clients with the critical decision-making tools and processes that help ensure a smooth transition from mandate to closing.

In January, JLL acquired Bill Goold Realty, one of western Canada's most successful commercial and multifamily residential property brokers to expand the multifamily investment platform. With the addition of Betsalel and Kufner, JLL will further strengthen JLL's growing Canadian multi-residential investment business in Ontario.
