Thriving Canadian Lodging Market Attracts First-Time Hotel Buyer

JLL arranges CA$225 million sale of Four Seasons Hotel Toronto

TORONTO, September 30, 2016 – JLL today announced the firm has arranged the sale of Four Seasons Hotel Toronto on behalf of Kingdom Holding Company.

Through various family holdings, Shahid Khan, the founder of Flex-N-Gate Group and CEO of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League and the historic London-based Fulham Football Club, purchased the 259-room hotel for CA$225 million, the highest single asset price per room transaction in Canadian history.

A first-time hotel buyer, Mr. Khan and family take immediate ownership of the property, which will continue to be managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

Senior Vice Presidents Mark Sparrow and Luke Scheer led the JLL team on the transaction with international marketing support led by JLL's America's CEO Arthur Adler and Global Hotel Desk leader Gilda Perez-Alvarado.

"The property's prominent location and proximity to Four Seasons' global headquarters generated a depth of international investor interest," said Sparrow. "The size of this transaction exemplifies the strength of the Canadian lodging market, with Toronto, as an international gateway market, experiencing particularly strong hotel fundamentals and global interest."

The hotel opened in 2012 and features the award winning Café Boulud restaurant and a 30,000-square-foot spa. Located in Toronto's distinguished Yorkville neighbourhood, the hotel is within walking distance of Toronto's most desirable retail, restaurants, art galleries and museums.

JLL's Hotels & Hospitality Group has completed more transactions than any other hotels and hospitality real estate advisor over the last five years, totalling more than $68 billion worldwide. Between negotiating property deals, the group's 350-person global team also closed more than 4,400 advisory, valuation and asset management assignments. To find out more visit:
