Current Responsibilities
Joseph von Maltzahn is a Senior Vice President of the Capital Markets Group of JLL Inc. He provides advisory and transaction services to investment clients. He specializes in growing the Group’s office and industrial investment service line in the Greater Montréal Area and throughout the province of Québec.

Mr. von Maltzahn has over 10 years’ experience in commercial real estate, having launched his career with King Sturge LLP in London, UK in 2005.  He trained in all areas of commercial real estate, including brokerage and appraisal.  He was originally involved in Southeast England’s office market and London’s residential market.  Upon qualification, he joined the Corporate Finance team where he was an asset manager for a portfolio of infrastructure assets which, during his tenure, grew to 16 assets valued at approximately $900 million CAD on behalf of institutional and specialist investors. In addition to this Mr. von Maltzahn was a fund manager for traditional property funds investing both in the UK and Central Europe. He was responsible for sourcing appropriate investments, conducting the appropriate due diligence and presenting the proposal to Investment Committees for approval. 

After JLL Inc acquired King Sturge, in 2011, he moved to Montréal to join JLL’s Capital Markets Group in Montréal.

Mr. von Maltzahn studied Real Estate Management at Oxford Brookes University and graduated with Honours in 2001. In addition, as a post graduate he studied Architectural History at the University of Oxford graduating in 2005.  Mr. von Maltzahn is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) gaining membership in 2007 and a licensed real estate broker in the province of Québec and British Columbia.
