Current responsibilities
Mary Shaughnessy is a Senior Project Manager for delivery of Project and Development Services within our Vancouver Office. Her focus is providing clients in Greater Vancouver and British Columbia with project management services for renovation and construction projects.  Mary’s current projects include Desjardins Financial Services, HSBC Canada, O2e Brands, Mogo Financial, Expedia, and Dassault Systemes.

Mary Shaughnessy brings design, policy development, and project management experience to the JLL Project Development Services Team.  Prior to joining JLL, Mary served as the in-house Project Manager for the design and construction of the Head Office of Mountain Equipment Co-op, a LEED-certified Building in Vancouver. She was responsible for all aspects of the project – a repurposing of an existing industrial building – including needs assessment, space planning, hiring of consultants and the general contractor, budget tracking, coordinating the move to the new facility, to purchasing artwork for the walls.  The position with MEC required tremendous diplomacy and the ability to manage expectations, as the Co-op moved away from an enclosed office model toward a more open-plan and collaborative environment.
Mary has worked in a number of Vancouver and Seattle architectural offices on residential, mixed use, commercial, and institutional projects. She has written or co-written many urban and architectural design policy documents, prepared design solutions for heritage structures, and undertaken site supervision on a wide range of project types.
Mary received a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Washington (Seattle) in 1992, with a Certificate in Historic Preservation Technology. She completed a B.A. in Urban Geography at Simon Fraser University in 1988.
