Current Responsibilities
Nathan is a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Commissioning & Building Analytics team.

Nathan joined the team as a Mechanical & BAS/DDC Commissioning Engineer in 2009, bringing more than 10 years of full-time mechanical (HVAC) design document preparation experience, and 6 years of experience of inspecting installation of Mechanical Systems (HVAC and Plumbing), and ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code for all types of buildings. Nathan gained this experience with his Red Seal HVAC Mechanic & Electric Licenses.


Nathan has worked on numerous Commissioning Projects, such as Woodstock General Hospital, Rouge Valley General Hospital, University of Waterloo – Quantum-Nano Centre, Queen’s University, and Maple Leaf Square. Nathan has also worked on the following ARF/IO Hospital projects acting as owner’s Commissioning Consultant such as St. Michael's Hospital, ErinoakKids Hospital and New Oakville Hospital. His experience in HVAC is an asset at HFM when he is inspecting, commissioning and approving HVAC and Plumbing equipment installation. Nathan also provided extensive existing building commissioning. He has completed the City of Mississauga Recommissioning Project which includes four community centers which house pools and/or rinks. He is also part of the Toronto-Dominion Center LEED E-BOM recommissioning, and the Cadillac Fairview Ontario Portfolio Recommissioning team.

Prior to joining the team, Nathan worked for five months as a Mechanical (HVAC) Project Engineer for MMM Group. His responsibilities included reviewing mechanical drawings and specifications; coordinating with architects, property developers and the Toronto Housing Department; and visiting, inspecting and surveying HVAC and Plumbing installation at the Toronto Housing property site.

Preceding the MMM Group, Nathan worked for six years (2000-2006) as a Mechanical (HVAC) / Electrical Supervisor for Direct Energy and over 20 years as a Mechanical Engineer for Carrier Commercial Refrigeration (UTC). This job required planning, arranging, inspecting and reviewing all mechanical equipment installation. Nathan was responsible for coordinating with all sub-contractors, including architects, consultant engineers, electrical contractors, and general/construction contractors.
