Current Responsibilities

Matthew is a Commissioning Coordinator for the Commissioning & Building Analytics team.

Matthew joined the team in 2011 and is a Queen’s University graduate with a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and Economics. Although initially primarily involved in the project execution phase of commissioning, Matthew has expanded his role to include both the project development and project close-out stages. Matthew is responsible for reviewing design and construction documents, preparing commissioning reports and developing functional tests. Matthew is also involved in coordinating and participating in on-site commissioning activities such as meetings, site visits and functional testing. With the ability to leverage his blended educational background, Matthew is able to provide customized solutions which consider both the commissioning logistics and financial impact associated with project execution.

Currently involved in the Joseph Brant Hospital Project, Matthew is the Project Manager on other commissioning projects including two York Region  Paramedic Service Stations (#13 and #25) and the 25 Malcom Road Condominium Building. He is also leading the University of Toronto Wallberg Energy Audit project. Matthew has also been learning the requirements and responsibilities associated with LEED buildings, and is actively perusing LEED designation.

Matthew played a integral role at Pan Am Athletes’ Village as the main point of contact responsible for coordinating all project commissioning  activities related to the development. Working first hand with Ellisdon and each building’s mechanical and electrical contractors, the team was able to deliver eight fully commissioned buildings prior to the start of the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games. In addition, Matthew has also been involved with JLL’s overseas projects in the Philippines: ArthaLand Tower and Arya Residences.
