Current Responsibilities
Ray Townsend is Executive Vice President and Practice Lead of the Multi-Family Team at Jones Lang LaSalle, Vancouver, British Columbia.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle,Vancouver, Ray Townsend was Interim COO with Bill Goold Realty. Prior to this he was Senior Vice President of Jones Lang LaSalle, Edmonton; he was instrumental in helping the newly established multi-family team increase its presence in a market largely dominated by CBRE. He left CBRE Limited as a Senior Vice President of the National Apartment Team Edmonton, to join the newly opened Jones Lang LaSalle office. Before being recruited to the CBRE Investment Team in 2004 Ray headed up the multi-family division of Colliers in Edmonton for 10 years where he won a number of awards for his sales production. 

Ray specializes in commercial property acquisition, disposition, evaluation, and consultation. In addition to the acquisition and disposition of several thousand apartment units, Ray has worked closely with developers purchasing key residential locations throughout Edmonton, Northern Alberta and Northeastern B.C. Ray, with his colleagues, has facilitated the sale of over $3 Billion worth of residential real estate.

Ray was a member of the CBRE National Investment Team Edmonton when it won the Richard A. Pogue Award for Top Team in Canada – in 2006 and again in 2007. Throughout his real estate career he has won awards for his sales performance.

Ray has 39 years of commercial real estate experience throughout Western Canada and the U.S. His curriculum vitae includes positions as Vice President of Development for: a Winnipeg based real estate development company; and, a Vancouver-based pension fund advisor.

Ray is a past Board member of the Edmonton Apartment Association and was a frequent speaker on the Edmonton multi-family real estate market.
