Alison is responsible for developing and providing real estate debt brokerage and debt advisory capabilities across Canada.
Alison has worked in senior positions at several renowned companies, including Desjardins Asset Management, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Otéra Capital, where she held the position of Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. Most recently, Alison worked with the debt and structured finance team at CBRE.
Alison's expertise spans mortgage brokerage, loan underwriting, sales and loan syndication, structured finance (CMBS, private mortgage bonds), credit and risk management, and real estate appraisal. During her career, she has underwritten, credit approved or brokered financings in excess of $5 billion dollars.
This extensive experience provides her with deep connections to the industry and a deep understanding of different stakeholders' perspectives, allowing her to negotiate optimal financing for JLL's clients.
The JLL Debt Capital Markets team solicits real estate financing for 1st and 2nd mortgage term loans, bridge loans, construction and mezzanine loans in all major markets in Canada, on behalf of private, public and institutional clients. Lender partners include domestic and international financial institutions, including banks, life assurance companies, pension funds, CMBS lenders and institutionally-owned private lenders.
Education and Affiliations
Alison holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Portsmouth (England) and a Certificate in Real Estate and Urban Management from Laval University. She has also completed requirements to be an exempt market dealer.
Alison is secretary of the Board of Trustees of Terre sans frontières, and sits on the Disciplinary Counsel of the Quebec Order of Chartered Appraisers. She has served on various Boards and committees including the Real Estate Foundation for Kids in Montreal, OAEQ and UDI. Her commitment to the real estate industry includes past and on-going mentoring.
Under her tenure as President of CREW MTL (Commercial Real Estate Women) Alison co-founded the Canadian CREW Conference, expanding networking opportunities to a national level. Alison made cover page and was named financial strategist in the 2014 Real estate edition of the Première en Affaires magazine.
