Current Responsibilities

In his role as Senior Vice President, Business Development, John Ross has responsibility for driving JLL's business in Western Canada, with a particular focus on his home market of Edmonton.  Growth will be the goal; this will be achieved through leveraging existing Client relationships and recruiting new business lines and talent.


John has 40 years of experience in all aspects of commercial real estate, having worked on both the Brokerage and Client sides of the buisness in Western Canada and the South Western United States.  For the 8 years immediately prior to joining JLL, John was a Managing Director of Avison Young, with responsibility for the growth of the Edmonton Office and Western Canada.  During his tenure the Avison Edmonton Office doubled in size from both a revenue and people perspective.

Prior to joining Avison, John was Vice President, Acquisitions and Dispositions for WAM Development Group, with responsibility for all acquisitions and dispositions in Western Canada and the South Werstern United States.  During his 3 year tenure over $300 Million in transactions were concluded.

John has represented both institutional and private clients over his career, having been involved in over $3.5 Billion in transaction volume.

Education and Affiliations

John holds a B.A. (Honours Psychology) from the University of Alberta, and is a member of International Council of Shopping Centres.  He is a member of the University of Alberta Real Estate Program Leadership Committee, focussing on both Education and Fundraising
