The Greater Montréal Area (GMA) industrial market experienced another strong quarter with robust lease activity, but technically had its’ weakest quarter on paper since Q1 2016. This is because 4.1 million square feet of spaces were brought back to the leasing market as tenants moved out. The considerable amount of space resulted in over 700,000 square feet of negative net absorption. Two buildings alone contributed to over 1 million square feet, namely 7101 & 5781 Notre-Dame Est in the East End submarket.
