Legalization is around the corner and Edmonton sees its first wave of marijuana production facilities

  • As the July 1st 2018 legalization date grows closer, so does the amount of marijuana production related construction in the region, as companies in the industry look to get their production facilities up and running by early 2018.
  • With major construction on facilities such as the 800,000 square feet production facility dubbed the Aurora Sky, and the 160,000 square feet conversion in SE Morris industrial park, we are seeing an increasing amount of these production facilities popping up in and around the Greater Edmonton Area.
  • We can expect over 1 million square feet of warehouse space to be built by the first half of 2018, with a further 0.5 million square feet being planned for expansions, developments, and additional warehouses for the purposes of cannabis production.
