the slow trickle of suburban tenants moving downtown continues, over 90 percent
of tenants facing real estate decisions last year decided to stay within the
those that did move, more than 80 percent moved within the suburbs.
growth in 2017 was fueled almost exclusively by existing tenants significantly
expanding their footprint including Scotiabank, Geotab, Telecon and Aviva.
the biggest treat to Suburban landlords isn’t keeping tenants but the lack of
new tenants setting up shop in Toronto’s suburbs.
