Ben Breslau

Directeur Général de la Recherche, JLL Amériques

Ben is responsible for leading JLL’s 200-person Research & Strategy team in the Americas region – across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

Based in Boston, Ben also has a global reach as a member of the Global Research Executive Board, which guides the strategic direction of JLL’s approximately 500-member global research team that covers 100 countries.

Ben’s 20-year career in commercial real estate began in earnest after he earned an economics degree from Emory University in 1998. He took a chance starting as a temp at Spaulding and Slye, with big dreams of stepping into a role that engaged both his analytical mind and his love of people, communication, and leadership.

Ben’s role today is a realization of his early aspirations. He leads the development of JLL’s research insights and forecasts, and translates what they mean to clients. He works with executives and investors directly, advising them on real estate market opportunities and business strategies.

His role also involves innovation and building relationships that benefit JLL, such as the one he formed with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). As a result of his efforts, JLL became the Founding Industry Partner of MIT’s Real Estate Innovation Lab(REIL), which aims to understand and forecast innovation and technological change in the built environment.

Outside of JLL, Ben enjoys spending time with his family and cheering on the Boston Red Sox with his two kids. Every summer, he races in the Pan-Mass Challenge, an annual 200-mile bike-a-thon that crosses Massachusetts to raise money for cancer research.

He is a frequent expert speaker for many industry associations including the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and also a member of the National Association of Business Economists (NABE).
