TORONTO, May 9, 2024 – JLL announced today that it has appointed Scott Barras to oversee business operations and drive growth as Work Dynamics Canada Lead. Barras will execute a strategic vision to help clients primarily based and operating in Canada drive maximum value from their real estate portfolios at a time when more organizations are turning to JLL for technology, talent, workplace and sustainability solutions.

“As part of our strategy to provide specialized expertise and capabilities across geographies, we are invested in Canada as a significant growth market,” said Cheryl Carron, JLL Chief Operating Officer, Work Dynamics Americas. “Scott is a dynamic leader whose significant experience as a service provider client, paired with our talented team of Canadian experts, position him well to anticipate and respond to client needs as the industry continues to evolve.”

Barras has 18 years of experience in corporate real estate, with a recent focus on workplace strategy, portfolio transformation and project management across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. As Work Dynamics Canada Lead, he will focus on enhancing partnerships with local and diverse suppliers; driving efficiency and innovation across processes, technologies and business lines; and bolstering Canadian talent recruitment, retention and development efforts. He will work closely with JLL Canada Markets and Capital Markets to enable growth through industry specialization and a deeper understanding of the Canadian market and regulations. Newly based in Toronto, he reports to Carron and leads a team of Work Dynamics specialists across the country.

Barras joins JLL from Standard Chartered Bank, where he most recently served as Global Head of Workplace in Singapore. He is actively involved with CoreNet Global and was honored with their Singapore CRE Executive of the Year Award in 2022.
