Albert Ovidi is Chief Operations Officer for Asia Pacific at JLL, overseeing strategy, innovation and operational excellence for 38,000 employees in the region. He is also Head of Property and Asset Management for Asia Pacific, a director for 11 of JLL’s group companies and serves on the firm’s Global Operating Board.
Albert plays a key role in advancing digital transformation, sustainability initiatives and efficiency-driven solutions. During more than 20 years at JLL, he has held leadership roles spanning construction, leasing, asset management and property management. His strategic skills have been instrumental in driving the company’s prop-tech initiatives, optimizing business operations and fostering long-term growth.
As an undergraduate, Albert worked on a pioneering project to develop a computer-based cancer diagnosis system designed to replace traditional laboratory analysis. This early experience in applying technology to solve complex problems proved to be a strong indicator of the path his career would follow.
Albert initially built his expertise in real estate and infrastructure in various roles during a ten-year stint at Lend Lease. He joined JLL in 1999 as Director of Asset Management Services for Australia, increasing the AMS client base fivefold, and launching our Asset Management Services product in Asia Pacific. In 2004 he became Head of Property, Asset and Facilities Management for JLL Australia, leading a team of over 900 agents and co-establishing JLL’s first Energy and Sustainability Services team in Asia Pacific.
From there, Albert rose to positions of greater responsibility – including Managing Director of Project & Development Services and Head of Property & Asset Management – before assuming the role of COO in 2011.
Outside of work, Albert enjoys spending time with his family, jungle trekking, DJing and keeping fit.
As well as a degree in electrical and electronics engineering, Albert also holds an Executive MBA from the University of New South Wales.
