Current Responsibilities
Darrell is an industry veteran whose career in commercial real estate spans more than 35 years including executive management, development, brokerage and consulting.
As an Executive Vice President and senior member of the team, Darrell’s primary focus is Office Leasing and Capital Markets. Darrell’s extensive experience as a highly skilled negotiator has assisted a wide variety of local, national and international organizations find creative solutions for business challenges that help to achieve their real estate goals and objectives.
Experience
Occupiers have benefitted from Darrell’s consultative and collaborative approach to the understanding of clients’ business needs, providing them with uniquely tailored insights and optimization strategies that positively impact business drivers that include talent retention/attraction strategies, productivity, culture, engagement as well as overall operational efficiency.
Additionally, Darrell has assisted owners and developers, with their portfolio and development strategies involving acquisition, disposition, ground-up development, pre-leasing and re-positioning strategies to optimize occupancy and revenue streams. This body of work has resulted in the leasing of more than 20 million square feet and over $3 billion in sales.
Darrell’s impressive client roster includes some of the largest and most prominent global organizations as well as top tier real estate companies from across North America including KPMG, Royal Bank of Canada, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, Pattison Group, BC Hydro, HUB Insurance, Wood (formerly Amec), IBM, GE Capital, Investors Group, Telus, Sun Life, Bank of Montreal, Great West Life, ICBC, Stantec, Translink, National Bank, Oxford Properties, Industrial Alliance, Bosa Properties, Cadillac Fairview, Concert Properties, Uptown Property Group, Metro Vancouver and Kingswood Properties.
Education and Affiliations
Darrell received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from the University of British Columbia as well as a Real Estate Appraisal Diploma. Darrell is a member of NAIOP, BOMA, UDI and the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board. Over Darrell’s career he has sat on several industry boards and advisory councils and is a regular guest speaker and panelist at industry events.
Darrell has also travelled extensively to better understand how occupiers, owners and a variety of stakeholders improve the workplace environment. He is passionate about the City where he and his family were born and raised and is committed to its progressive and sustainable development, growth and ensuring the vibrancy of its business communities.
