Doug Wong is a Senior Vice President with the Value and Risk Advisory Group where he acts as a co-lead for the practice in Vancouver and British Columbia.
Doug has an extensive amount of experience in the valuation of large-scale, income-producing investment assets and real estate portfolios, in British Columbia. The majority of his work has been focused on working with Canada’s largest Pension Funds, REITs, and real estate investment companies. His experience includes the valuation of office, industrial, retail, multi-family, and development land projects.
His experience extends from appraisal work, financial due diligence for acquisitions, various development consulting assignments, to legal/arbitration work. Doug also has a significant amount of experience in dealing with complex leasehold valuations.
Doug has been providing valuation and consulting services in the commercial real estate industry since 2009. He recently joined JLL as a Senior Vice President in 2023, after 13 years at the Altus Group, where he was a Senior Director with the Research, Value and Risk Advisory Group in Vancouver. Doug was also responsible in chairing the Industrial Best Practice Group.
Doug earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia. He was awarded his AACI designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2013 after completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation from the University of British Columbia. Doug is still actively involved with the UBC Real Estate Program and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the UBC Real Estate Club.
In his spare time, Doug enjoys travelling, going for hikes, and playing golf and basketball. Doug has travelled to over 50 countries and has his PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Certification.
